Dumfries and Galloway Youth Council Seats

The Dumfries and Galloway Youth Council are currently recruiting to several Nominated Youth Council seats.

The seats available for candidates are:

  • LGBT+
  • ASN and Disabilities
  • Ethnic Minority
  • Young Parents
  • Gypsy/Traveller Community

This opportunity is open to young people aged 12-25, who live, work or study within Dumfries and Galloway. These positions are regional, meaning young people would represent the community across the length and breadth of Dumfries and Galloway.

The successful candidates need to commit 3 hours per week on average, which would include attending meetings, meeting with the young people they represent and working on action plans. This can be a mix of online and in person work.

Full induction training will be provided, including training days in the February half term.

Young people who are interested should complete this form: https://forms.office.com/e/aTUcDWL0Ek, which asks for some basic details including availability for an information session. All candidates must attend this session to be able to stand for election.

Sign-ups close on February 5, with elections taking place the following week.
